The great reds of the Langhe: when the territory becomes identity
The Langhe represent one of the most fascinating wine-growing areas in Italy. Soft hills, Neat vineyards and a wine culture that spans generations give life to bottles capable of describing Piedmont with authenticity. In this selection we find some of the most representative vines of the area: Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Langhe Freisa and Dolcetto d'Alba. Each of these wines brings with them a distinct personality, but they all share a deep bond with the territory.
Barbera d’Alba
Barbera is one of the symbolic wines of the Langhe. It stands out for its intense color, freshness and a balanced structure. Cherry aromas emerge on the nose, blackberry and spices, while on the palate its acidity makes it perfect to accompany traditional Piedmontese dishes.
Langhe Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is the noblest grape variety of Piedmont. Also in the Langhe versions, younger and more immediate than Barolo, maintains elegance and aromatic complexity with notes of rose, viola, red fruits and light spicy nuances.
Langhe Freisa
Freisa is a historic Piedmontese grape variety that is often underestimated. It offers wines with a lively character with hints of berries, black pepper and a light tannicity which also makes it interesting for creative gastronomic pairings.
Dolcetto d'Alba
Contrary to the name, Dolcetto is not a sweet wine. It's a fresh red,soft and immediate, with almond notes, plum and small black fruits. It is the perfect wine for everyday cooking and for simple but flavourful dishes.
